The Design Philosophy and Intelligent Innovation Path of Tennis Mate

Boundary-crossing: From design to artificial intelligence
Q: You majored in design for both your undergraduate and master's degrees. Why did you choose to pursue a PhD in artificial intelligence in the United States?
A: We are standing on the threshold of the fourth scientific and technological revolution, and cross-border integration has become an inevitable trend of future development. Design empowers product aesthetics and user experience, while AI provides data-driven decision making and intelligent optimization.
The United States has obvious advantages in basic research, computing resources and cutting-edge algorithms, which is why I chose to pursue a PhD in AI in the United States.
In my doctoral research, I will combine deep learning and data model to optimize the intelligent system of "Tennis Mate", and strive to make this product more accurate and scientific in data feedback, motion trajectory simulation and personalized training programs.
Product evolution: From multi-functional exercisers to intelligent systems
Q: How would you define an existing "Tennis Mate ® Multi-function trainer"?
A: The first generation and the second generation of the tennis mate trainer won the "China Manufacturing Beauty Award" in 2021 and 2022, and won the "China Good Technology" in 2023.
As the only auxiliary equipment in the world that fully covers forehand and backhand, upper, middle and lower swing training.
In my opinion, the first generation of products is the body of the tennis mate, and the intelligent system we are building is the nerve center that injects intelligence into this body.
The perfect fusion of technology and aesthetics
Q: How to understand that tennis companion is a fusion of technology and art?
A: Sports equipment requires not only a strong and durable structure, but also aesthetics and portability.
In the design of the tennis mate product, we adopted the bionic design concept: when stretching, it is like opening the arms of the ball companion; After folding, it can be cleverly stored in the exclusive bag.
The color of the whole body is "technological black", "metallic silver" and "grass green", which is the perfect balance of "beauty" and "practical" interpretation.
At the same time, within the product, we have incorporated a number of self-developed patented technologies. The empowerment of intelligent technology, but also technology for tennis companion products to give biological senses and thinking ability, so that they can through sensing, visualization equipment and athletes "dialogue".
We hope to break the impression of traditional sports equipment "silly big stupid thick", inject wisdom into the "soul" of the product, and shape the tennis mate into an all-round partner who can accompany daily training and have personalized and intelligent services.
Smart Empowerment: A blueprint for the tennis trainer of the future
Q: Can you imagine a smart tennis mate for us in the future?
A: The smart tennis mate of the future will be far beyond the scope of traditional devices. Building on existing second-generation products, we have integrated advanced sensor modules such as speedometers, tachometers and 3D gyroscopes to monitor the movement, rotation and angular speed of tennis balls in real time.
Through high-precision algorithm analysis and calculation of the collected data, we will build a virtual system that accurately simulates the trajectory of the tennis ball, and realize the prediction of the landing point of the virtual ball on the virtual court and the evaluation of the training effect.
Specifically, the product will not only record training time, hitting power and technical parameters, but will also plot a three-dimensional trajectory of the movement path, thereby providing personalized data packets and guidance recommendations for each training session.
On this basis, my doctoral research will further explore suitable stochastic differential equation models and deep learning algorithms to continuously optimize the accuracy of data feedback.
In the future, the new generation of products we conceive will be deeply integrated with AR or MR Glasses, and through intelligent real-time information visualization, users can visually feel the "virtual tennis ball" landing point and its movement trajectory.
The fourth generation of products for high-level athletes will integrate AR glasses and smart rackets with force feedback function, and create a "cross-time" game and battle-like competitive experience through 5G high-speed transmission and real-time data processing, realizing real-time interaction between users and other players, stars, and even their own historical data.

Q: What are your expectations and expectations for the future?
A: In the future, I hope to use cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality to continuously promote the upgrading of "tennis mate" from a single function to a diversified and intelligent direction.
Whether it is to provide convenient and efficient training tools for the public, or to create accurate competitive assistance systems for professional athletes, we will continue to explore the infinite possibilities of science and technology and art with user experience as the core.
